Founded in 1839, the University of Chester is a prestigious Church of England institution that prides itself on being one of the UK’s first higher education establishments.

It has famous links to former prime ministers, William Gladstone and the Earl of Derby, and its striking period buildings were the first in the country to be purpose-built for teacher training. Its specialist sites are situated across Chester, Warrington, Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
