UNIVERSITY OF CUMBRIA
Overall Rating

Very happy with the course work and the way its being delivered. The university experience not so great as mentioned regarding some of the services and facilities

Student Union

Seem to do a good job, havent had the need to contact then about any issues so far

Clubs and Societies

Very poor selection. Moat of the sports teams are only available at Lancaster campus which is disappointing. I have joined a weekend sports team as a result

Uni Facilities

Average. The gym is shocking for a university this size, the library is ok but needs to be 24 hour access in my opinion. Parking around the college is another area that needs reviewing, students should be able to get a permit instead of having to check their car every 2 hours. The physio labs seem to be of a decent standard, but would also like more time allocated to simulation rooms and other equipment

Course and Lecturers

Pro: Delivered in small group size, get more time with lectures and to develop a rapport with them.
Con: I think there should be more interaction between the years of the same course.

City Life

Yes it is ideal. 5 mins walk away and is still close to city centre

Job Prospects

I would like to see more career/volunteer opportunities but i understand it may be limited within the area. Also would like the chance of more networking events/seminars and workshops

Student Support

Academic tutors are very helpful and supportive. The finance department/support is very confusing/difficult to organise a meeting however and doesn't feel that accessible
