UNIVERSITY OF EAST ANGLIA UEA
Overall Rating

It has been good overall. The student community, facilities, teaching staff, etc. Pre-session module was even provided to ensure we are prepared for one of the compulsory modules.

Student Union

The orientation week events and activities were good. The upcoming events and tour activities organised are also helpful for overseas students to join and explore the rest of UK.

Clubs and Societies

There are many varied societies and sports to join if you have time and are interested.

Accommodation

It is conveniently located in city centre with amenities nearby. It’s rather safe and has CCTVs within the building. It’a a brand new student accommodation so it’s mostly in good new condition except some teeth problems as with any new place, some facilities are not completed, some additional work required for the fixtures that requires workmen to pop by our rooms which is not very convenient or welcomes if it happens too frequently. But in general, it’s safe and good. Cost is on the more expensive side compared to some other student accommodation like Princes House, Georgian House, with dishwashers and washing machines in the studio rooms. But it is comparable to other student accommodation in the closer vicinity and probably a better option compared to campus accommodation given its condition and location, unless you prefer on-campus convenience.

Uni Facilities

In general quite good. I was surprised that the school of international development didn’t have it’s own building though. It’s rather inconvenient for us to have to walk all over university for our classes. It might have been better if there was a building for this school and house most of the lectures, seminars and workshops in it and it’s vicinity.

Course and Lecturers

The lecturers have put a lot of thought to the module to make it applicable and that’s very helpful.

City Life

It is 20-30minutes by bus from the city centre, served by 2 direct bus service numbers so it is good.

Job Prospects

Yes, there is a lot of support for that if you seek them.
