MSc Pharmaceutical Science (with specialism)

UNIVERSITY OF EAST LONDON
Overall Rating

Very poor experience. Wish I had spent my money elsewhere.

Material is not challenging and feels easier than my first year of undergraduate. Majority of course are international students, so teaching and assessments are geared towards helping them settle in instead of challenging everyone. Very disappointed as a home student to be on a very easy, spoon fed masters. Extra reading not really expected which is strange for the level the programme is.

Communications on gov updates on covid such as in person teaching ending by 9th December was incredibly slow leaving students confused and anxious . In person testing stopped two days before the last day of travel window which.meant it was not of use for many students.

Student Union

Utter shocking union. Look above for detail

Accommodation

I live in private halls not associated with the uni.

Uni Facilities

Lab spaces are average. They are not bad but they are not state of the art either. Sometimes feels like I am back in high school

Course and Lecturers

Blended delivery due to covid 19. Lectures usually consist of copied material from textbooks. Not challenging for MSc level. Lectures can be organised very last minute, over run and in general have no respect for our time.

City Life

Worst student union ever. Next to no events, very little effort to make safe in person events. Little facilities available at Stratford - coffee shop shuts by 3pm.

Job Prospects

No work placements, industry speakers for MSc, no career service activities or opportunities to develop transferable skills

Student Support

The wellbeing page is just a list of links to other services. Took over 7 weeks to assign academic tutors.
