Learning and teaching

Through a mixture of lectures, collaborative team assignments, case study analyses, work experience placements, management training, performance-based skills coaching and interpersonal skills development you will develop your communication skills and confidence to take ideas from formation through to fruition.

Thank to Exeter’s wide-reaching partner network, you will have the opportunity to undertake work placements to enrich your applied learning. We work with TV, film and online content developers producers, radio and theatre producers, tech and online application developers as well as film and TV financiers and distributors. We are also building links to specialist industry areas such as advertising and marketing.

This module explores concepts, structures and issues within creative industries. It provides you with an overview of creative industries in the UK and internationally and equips them with skills to critically analyse this sector within its contemporary context. The module will also develop practical business knowledge and skills in relation to project development, business planning and how to communicate business ideas effectively.

Entry requirements

Normally a minimum 2:1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a subject that includes some coverage of Film Studies, Drama, Business studies, Media and Communication or other creative disciplines. Applications from industry professionals, or applicants with relevant work experience, seeking an academic qualification or the opportunity to enhance your skills or knowledge in this field will also be considered.
