UNIVERSITY OF EXETER
Overall Rating

Really good uni with lots of opportunities in terms of societies and sports. Good course and great city (provided you're not looking for nightlife as big as London or Leeds). And the beach that's 10 minutes away is pretty sweet. Very happy with my choice.

Student Union

The Freshers Ball was severely underrated, the bumper cars were amazing.

Clubs and Societies

Huge range of sports and societies with amazing socials. History society is pretty sweet, has a lot of themed socials, eg emoji and caveman.

Accommodation

Decent room and facilities. For the cheapest accommodation, old Lafrowda really isn't very cheap. Many of our maintenance loans don't even cover the rent. But it's clean and comfortable. But then again, there aren't even enough chairs in our kitchen for everybody in the flat...

Uni Facilities

Really good gym, bar, library and study spaces. Written many an essay on a sofa on campus. Gym is a tad pricey but is brand new so yknow...

Course and Lecturers

Interesting, well structured course. We were taught the important skills and concepts in the first two terms which was really useful. Some of the lecturers are a bit here and there though, and rely on unnecessarily wordy powerpoints. Good course though, and some lecturers are interesting.

City Life

Town has everything you need, and decent nightlife. It's cheap if you go to the right places, and is a small but busy.

Job Prospects

Probably gonna be hard for everyone, but the uni has a strong focus on employability.

Student Support

Good, lots of support, in history we have a personal tutor as well as a second/third year mentor that we can ask pretty much anything about student life.

Having said what you have said would you recommend your uni?

Yes
