UNIVERSITY OF EXETER

Fatemeh - February 2024

best: beautiful location and support from people and staff
worst: hot desks! and having no permanent office for PGRs read full review
the best experience would be the university which comes with a great infrastructure. read full review
The University of Exeter is an unparalleled gem for academic pursuits, offering an enriching environment that seamlessly blends tradition with innovation. The dedication of the faculty to nurturing intellectual curiosity creates an atmosphere where learning becomes an immersive experience. The campus, nestled in the heart of nature's beauty, not only provides a serene backdrop but also fosters a sense of community and inclusivity among students. The wealth of resources, coupled with cutting-edge facilities, empowers students to explore and excel in their chosen fields. To enhance the overall experience, further collaboration opportunities between departments and an increased focus on sustainable practices could be considered. However, these are minor considerations in comparison to the university's myriad strengths, making it a truly exceptional place to pursue higher education. read full review

As an international student, I truly believe that my experience at this university has been transformative, exposing me to a rich tapestry of international culture and learning. It's not just the academic environment that has contributed to my personal growth, but also the vibrant community of Exeter town. Living among fellow students, all driven by a similar mindset, has been immensely rewarding.

However, I also recognize areas where improvements can be made, particularly for international students like myself. When I first arrived, navigating the challenges of finding part-time work while adjusting to a new academic structure and unfamiliar weather was daunting. It would have been immensely helpful to have a more gradual transition into university life, perhaps with personalized guidance and support at the beginning of the semester. Having someone to check in with regularly would have provided invaluable assistance during those initial stages of adaptation.

Overall, while my experience has been enriching, there are opportunities for the university to enhance support mechanisms for international students, especially during the crucial early phases of their journey. read full review
I'm a remote PGR studying a professional doctorate. My uni experience is limited because I was only at the University for block weeks in my first two years, but I loved being on the campus and enjoyed the face to face teaching.

My department have supported me brilliantly and my academic tutor and supervisors have gone above and beyond to help me develop my skills, carry out my research and now support me with my final thesis. The librarians have been brilliant too. I honestly cannot fault the help and support I have received. read full review
Besides the great study experience, all the staffs are very supportive. But the location is quite far from the city centre. read full review
The best experience of being an internal student at exeter is location, building, i lean the campus is so good, faculty, module, all of the event that makes le feel like home ( culture festival) and networking event, guides in every step.
I cannot say worse but a bad feeling on assignment that we need to work on. Being an international there are few areas which u struggled a lot 1nd i would say all worth it at last. read full review
The school has a rich variety of campus activities. But some teachers have a heavy accent during class. read full review
The university feels like a clean and environmentally friendly place, despite it being out of the way of the rest of the city the area is beautiful. I cannot comment too greatly on my experience as I live away from the university and travel in for classes, however, there is a great selection of food and drink facilities on campus. The one negative thing I can comment on, as a student that has a different uni experience to the majority, is the lack of parking spaces around the campus, especially car parks that do not require a permit. As someone who has one lecture a week it would not benefit me financially to obtain a parking permit, thus I am quite often stuck for places to park my car. read full review
