UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW
Overall Rating

I haven't had any reason to complain, really, and I've enjoyed my time here, so it must've been a good overall experience.

Student Union

Well, there's two of them, each with several bars each, but still the queues for drinks when there are events on take at least half an hour, no matter what. There are a fair variety of events, and you can join both unions, too.

Clubs and Societies

None, but that shouldn't turn people away from them, I know people that have joined various sporting societies, there's a strong gaming, anime and card games cluster of societies, too, and to be honest, there's loads of others that I haven't even been made aware of.

Accommodation

I rather enjoy it, I stay at Murano student village, so we have roughly 1000 students here, I think. There's often something going on to get involved with, and you're guaranteed that someone that you meet from your course will live nearby for group work and stuff.

Uni Facilities

Well, the library is huge, which I'm assuming means it has a fairly substantial collection, should we need it, it's a nice step up in labs using fairly accurate equipment as opposed to a stop clock and a basic thermometer.

Course and Lecturers

It's all fairly interesting stuff we're doing, and we half of the examples we follow for mathsy questions in the astronomy course are real planets/asteroids/comets and things. It makes it easier to relate to stuff than ""a planet P does this"" There are some difficult parts, but we have tutorials to help cover those, and the labs are a fairly enjoyable experience, despite the weather.

City Life

I don't get out much, so I don't really have grounds to comment

Job Prospects

Again, sorry, not too sure on this one, either. Never had a job, and haven't spoken to many people about it, there is an employability course that you can take in your spare time, and a weekly e-mail telling you events related to it, though.

Student Support

If I'm being honest, I haven't a clue. It may have been advertised very well, yet I am fairly ignorant of most of that.

Having said what you have said would you recommend your uni?

Yes
