The programme is delivered as a part-taught provision. The focus is on strategic integration of human resource management through application via the Dissertation and Supporting Research Methods workshops. Whether you have worked in HR for a number of years or have recently moved into HR, and wish to progress into more senior management positions, this course will provide academic coherence and theoretical underpinning to the work you have been undertaking. From 2018, the University of Gloucestershire Business School will move to a brand-new, state-of-the-art home at our Oxstalls campus in Gloucester. The £16 million development will be home to our Business, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Law and Accounting and Finance courses.

The purpose of the dissertation is to allow the student to carry out a self-managed piece of work that provides an in-depth investigation of an issue relevant to the field of management and business. The dissertation allows the student to critically evaluate and synthesise relevant business related philosophies, theories and models, undertake a process of enquiry using primary and/or secondary data sources and critically relate these academic concepts to a relevant area of business management activity. The dissertation allows for an analytical study of academic topics within the context of practical business decision making and can thereby contribute to the body of knowledge in the domain of management and business. The reflective element of the dissertation will give the student an opportunity to critically analyse and evaluate their experience of the learning process.
