UNIVERSITY OF GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Overall Rating

The University of Gloucestershire is spread over many sites through Cheltenham and Gloucester. I study at the Park Campus in Cheltenham which is a real pleasure. It's beautiful and nicely located. My course is in a beautiful building with lots of light and space. The library is great with good access to appropriate reading materials and printing facilities. There are also good facilities for my course with great technicians to help learn the various technologies. I'm really enjoying my experience.

As a mature student however, I'm not very impressed with the Students Union and social events. This may be a result of covid, but there doesn't seem to be a lot going on. I also find the University website unwieldy and difficult to navigate. Moodle is also a horrible system for anyone with dyslexia or neuro diversity differences. I find the whole online system badly designed and difficult to use. Finding out who to speak to about promoting a student event through the University networks seems almost impossible. As a Masters group we recently put on a small exhibition which may have been of interest to other students, but we found it difficult to know who to contact in terms of promotion. We put up posters around the Cheltenham campuses, but it would have been great to be able to promote it through the University networks.

Overall I would say that I'm really enjoying my course which is well taught and designed, but my student experience hasn't been very interesting and I'm not sure it's very dynamic for young people.
