Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Gloucestershire

I am staying in the on - campus accommodation. The university has a peaceful ambience because of its location. There is a small lake inside the campus. The university follows sustainable environment practices. There are occasional events organised by the students and the staff to make the Uni life exciting. The student’s union also plays a significant role in supporting the students. They distribute once in every two months a small packet of food and clothes.

The music lecture halls, music and film studios are sound proof and exhibit industry standard equipments. The out station compulsory course trips take place twice a year for a small fee. The lecturers are always keen to help with the queries. They can be contacted on either MS teams or email outside the lecture hours.

In terms of safety, fire alarms are tested each week and fire drills take place twice a year. All the areas are accessible only through a key card (issued only to the current students & staff). There are monthly visits by residential advisors to ensure the welfare of on campus residents. The staff is friendly and caring. There are also monthly maintainance exercises for the whole campus. The security personnel is available on campus and can be contacted 24x7.

There is a place called ‘Sanctuary’ on each campus where the students can come to relax, talk to a chaplain, have some free snacks or congregate for a small event. It is also open on the weekends.

However, the university is spread across three campuses - Park, Francis Close Hall and Oxstalls and the accommodation over five localities. The university can provide for a free bus service for the students and the staff between these campuses and localities. The university can also partner with local firms for part time jobs for the students so that they support themselves.

Nonetheless, it is one of the best places in U.K. to study and experience the Uni life ! read full review
Location is very far away from where international students are living and here cost of living is very high for students. University should compensate in sense of accommodation. read full review

The staff on the BSc Psychology and MSc Health Psychology are just fantastic. They are so supportive and genuinely care and want you to succeed. Nothing is too much trouble. This is my fourth year now at the university and the campus very much feels like home. It is small and friendly, only downside is there isn’t enough parking, which can be a little bit of a stress in the mornings when trying to get to lectures. I’m very comfortable here and do not want to leave because it really is the nicest place to be. It’s very inclusive, all the staff are brilliant, from lecturers to the chaplaincy team to security. I would recommend this university to everyone. read full review
The university facilities could be improved by enhancing the student support and hiring more lecturers in expertise fields to conduct the lectures within the university. read full review
Overall I am having a good time studying in university. I just had a bad experience at reception at the start of my course as the staff there was not helpful to me at-all and literally a student standing by came forward and helped me. And just a suggestion that there should be a prayer area in the campus as there are many international students who want to pray but can’t because there is no such space. read full review

University of Gloucestershire’s park campus is a really quiet space with all the resources available that we need to complete the program. It is such a great place to study because the lectures are easy to understand and the lecturers are very helpful. The computer lab has everything we need to study without a hassle. Even the relevant software are also installed and updated making things so much easier. read full review
