The aims of this module are: to develop an in-depth understanding of the strategic vision and the decision making process and the link with operational management; develop the knowledge and skills required for measuring competitiveness and the impact of the remote and operating environments; understand the boundaries and mechanics of the value chain; and understand the importance of the dynamic design of the portfolio of offers and the respective roles of the corporate parent and the strategic business units in the ownership of capabilities and competences.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have: An appropriate degree (2.2 or above or equivalent qualification) in an engineering discipline. Students without a first degree but with professional and vocational experience (e.g. incorporated engineer or chartered engineer status) may be considered if they demonstrate the potential to succeed on the course.
