MA International Relations

UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE
Overall Rating

Since I am from Canada and my first language is French, I was worried to study in a foreign country like the UK. However, the diversity on the campus made it super easy to make friends and feel right at home. There are a lot of international students which makes the academic experience much more rewarding than just simple classes about international relations : you basically get to live them at Herts.

There are a lot of activities for student to do in campus organized by the students' union. There are also "active classes" that allow you to try a variety of sports

There are a lot of cool cozy spots to study as well, which make the whole learning experience much more pleasant.

Hatfield is quite a small city but there is everything you need. Since it is small, it was easy for me to feel at home quickly since I was not overwhelmed by the city. However, Hatfield is close to St-Albans which is quite a nice place and London is also really accessible by common transport.

Accommodation

As for the accommodation, I really like my experience.

Since I am an international student, the best way I found to meet people and make friends was to live with them. All of my flatmates are now my friends and this so important in university student's life.

Also, we are evaluated every week on common spaces' cleanliness. This is really good because it prevent that we lose control over a dirty kitchen and this can be a source of conflict between flatmates.

Accommodation are the key for international students :)
