Overview

The University of Hertfordshire offers over 100 taught, online and specialist courses at postgraduate level, and more than 50 research degrees across the ten schools of study. These are:

The university is based in Hatfield, a 20 minute train ride from central London, while Cambridge and Peterborough are easily accessible in just over an hour.

Over recent years, the university has invested in its facilities, which include a £10 million Law Court building containing a full-scale Courtroom, which was voted the eighth most impressive law school building in the world. There is also a £15 million Sports Village, complete with a 25m swimming pool, 100 station gym, and a Formula One simulator. It’s most recent addition is the £50m state of the art Science building including labs and research technology, together under one roof.

More than 50% of the staff at the university are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy, and 55% of the university’s research has been ranked as ‘world leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). Graduates go on to find work in a wide range of careers, with alumni working as politicians, executives, athletes and television presenters.
