Course Summary

This is for you if you are interested in studying Aerospace Engineering at an advanced level. In a field as innovative as aerospace engineering, the sky truly is the limit. This Master’s degree covers advanced concepts and current knowledge in essential areas such as fluid dynamics and materials modelling. The course builds upon the General Engineering structure of the Department of Engineering. Hence, you will be exposed to a wide range of subjects across the Aerodynamics and Fluids, Materials and Control themes. There are few General Engineering departments in the UK which can offer such a broad perspective.

Teaching methods include lectures and seminars supported by practical and lab work. Assessment is a mix of open and closed exams and continuous assessment. This module will provide an introduction to the use of MATLAB as an interactive medium, a data analysis tool and as a program development environment. You will then be split according to your degree discipline and be introduced to either Simulink, the Communications toolbox, PSpice or SolidWorks as appropriate.

Students need good second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
