UNIVERSITY OF LEICESTER
Overall Rating

I love the campus at Leicester. The grounds and gardens are immaculate with beautiful planting . I love the mix of modern and older architecture (even the blocky concrete buildings have a certain charm!). The library is simply stunning inside and out.

My school is a really friendly environment. As a PhD student I'm treated as a staff member so I benefit from access to the staff room and other facilities. I appreciate this although the study facilities within the school could be improved.

I love the postgraduate reading room in the library, it's a great environment to study in. Infact the library is my favourite place. The staff couldn't do more to help you. They've answered my queries on reading material quickly and in a lot of detail whether I've emailed them or approached the help desk. The library cafe is convenient and the coffee is pretty good too.

In terms of what could be improved...can't really think of much to be honest. The food outlets aren't really to my taste. I'd like to see more meat and salad options available rather than vegan and veggie cuisine. It is really annnoying that none of the coffee outlets open very early. I like to start work by 6am and nothing opens until much later.
