Course Summary

This course is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in international organisations. This programme combines the theory of international relations and development studies with core management and organisational skills, aiming to educate students to become effective members of private, governmental, and non-profit organisations. Examples of potential employers include non-governmental organisations (NGOs), intergovernmental organisations, civil service, charities, and businesses. You will have the opportunity to develop team working skills by participating in a simulation exercise, climbing Mount Everest. You will also have the opportunity to participate in an interactive and intuitive real-life escape game as part of an optional study trip to Escape Rooms in Manchester, the costs of which are covered by the School. The Lincoln International Business School has an experienced team of staff, which is made up of academically and professionally qualified lecturers with relevant industrial experience and finance experts with wide research interests. Career and Personal Development: This programme is designed to prepare students for careers in international organisations by combining theory of international relations and development studies with core management and organisational skills. Many international organisations expect graduates to have at least two years of work or internship experience before they qualify for their junior professional programmes. At Lincoln, students have the opportunity to volunteer for community and other organisations in order to build towards a career in international organisations. Careers Service: The University Careers and Employability Team offer qualified advisors who can work with you to provide tailored, individual support and careers advice during your time at the University. Students will also achieve PGDip and PGCert.
