UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL
Overall Rating

Good, even if the organisational side of the Uni lets it down. I would love for there to be a bit more structure when it comes to how the Uni is managed.

Student Union

Everyone is friendly and the union feels more like a student hub, which is what I would want. It can get a bit packed at times though.

Clubs and Societies

I wouldn't know.

Accommodation

There is a good variety of accommodation, the student villages are brilliant socially. The commute (if you live off-campus which most accommodation is) is a bit of a pain but it's not a big problem.

Uni Facilities

The facilities are excellent, but what really lets the Uni down is the fact that so many departments are so protective of their facilities. Communal facilities like the sports centre don't suffer from this problem, but the music department, as one example out of many, will only let music students use their equipment, which means students are bottle-necked into their own department and have no means of branching out.

Course and Lecturers

There are only a select number of lecturers that know how to teach and make the course interesting and stimulating. Far too many lecturers just read off the slides and turn up to the lectures to do exactly that. Most do not show an interest in students, which makes it almost impossible to acquire references as there is no effective incentive scheme that would lead the lecturers to do so.

City Life

Excellent. Lots of choice, and with so many people your age it feels like a true student experience.

Job Prospects

I have not yet applied for graduate jobs.

Student Support

I have only been to the Careers and Employability service, but they are fantastic.

Having said what you have said would you recommend your uni?

Yes
