The University of Northampton recently relocated to its £330 million, brand new purpose built Waterside Campus situated in central Northampton. One of the youngest universities in the UK, it has been recognised with a number of awards, including the Gold Teaching Excellence Framework accolade, and being shortlisted for Business School of the Year.

The university is divided into the following main faculties:

  • Faculty for Business and Law
  • Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology
  • Faculty of Health and Society
  • Faculty of Education and Humanities

The University offers postgraduate degrees at taught and research level, as well as distance learning options, allowing for students to learn remotely and at a pace that's right for them. Dedicated support is offered for students during their time learning, from personal tutors and supervisors to a confidential counselling service.

Northampton was also the first UK University to be named a ‘Changemaker Campus’, meaning they have a focus on improving lives and giving back to the community. The University carries out top-quality research on an international scale, and as part of the Changemaker Challenges and its own ‘Transforming Lives + Inspiring Change’ initiative, it is committed to making a positive difference in Northamptonshire in four key areas:

  • Culture, Heritage and the Environment
  • Education
  • Enterprise and Innovation
  • Health and Wellbeing

In their spare time, students will find plenty of things to do in Northampton, with something for everyone. There are music venues, sports clubs, theatres, cinemas and a wide range of shops, as well as bars, restaurants and clubs. Students can also get involved in social activities going on at the university, with the Students' Union regularly organising events.

The University holds postgraduate drop-in sessions at all of their Open Days throughout the year, where you can speak to postgraduate representatives from your specific Faculty to find out more.
