University of Portsmouth

This year has been crazy for everyone but having the support for the university of Portsmouth has really helped me through. I always felt as if I could turn to my lecturers for support and guidance with any issues I had. With face to face teaching being cancelled my course had extended online learning sessions which were really helpful. The lecturers have also been so amazing and always so quick to respond to any emails and questions. I’m sad that I didn’t get a more normal uni experience but it’s been as good as it could have been and thanks to the uni I have come out of a tough year with a masters which I’m so thankful for.

I haven’t been into the uni as much as I would have liked but the facilities I did use were great. Everything was always very clean and the layout of buildings due to covid worked well.

It’s been a hard year with blended teaching then lessons moving solely online but the support given and the extra workshops, and fast responses from the lecturers have made things a lot easier. I loved going into uni at the beginning of the year when we could it was easier to ask questions and feel connected.

I’m always getting emails about potential career opportunities and access to internships. I actually got a marketing job alongside my course thanks to one of the emails from the university which advertised the job. I always have applied for a virtual internship through w link from the uni. Both of these opportunities have really helped set up my career and I wouldn’t have found them or known about them if it wasn’t for the university.

I have used student support services for both mental health and academic support. Both were amazing and got in contact with me straight away. They were very supportive and helped me a lot. The well-being services always checked up on me even after I finished using the service which was great.
