UNIVERSITY OF PORTSMOUTH
Overall Rating

I’ve loved my time at Portsmouth, it’s such a great city. There’s always something to do, great night life and of course the beach. It’s also a pretty easy place to travel to and from.

One of the best things about Portsmouth uni is the societies. There are really good facilities for the sports clubs, everyone is really passionate, you can compete in exciting competitions and it’s a great opportunity to make new friends.

I’ve also found the teaching and library staff so helpful. My supervisor has been amazing and in my experience, all the staff are excited to teach and are more than happy to answer questions and spend time with you outside of class if you ask.

One thing I think could improve is the funding/ facilities for humanities. It feels like there are specific spaces for sport and science and less for humanities. Also, although staff work hard to help students outside of class, it can sometimes be hard to find time since they are obviously very busy and have a lot of responsibilities.

Overall, Portsmouth is a great university. I have had the best time here and even hope to continue my postgraduate studies here.

Accommodation

Halls were a lot of fun, it’s a great place to make friends. The location was amazing, it was so easy to get to class and very easy to get home from a night out, which made me feel safe late at night.

There was also loads of shops, restaurants and a train station nearby, making everything so convenient.

The quality of the rooms could improve and the prices were always really expensive. I think the room quality and cleaning should be far better for the price.
