The module aims to provide students with theoretical and analytical tools that will enhance their understanding of both how language is structured and how it is used to communicate meanings. Students will apply these insights to practical tasks of language analysis in an educational setting. Both authentic texts and corpora are used for analysis and illustration. Thus, the module will develop theoretical knowledge and its application in a professional context, so extending and deepening understanding both for students who have a language teaching background and for those who have a more theoretical undergraduate background.
