Located in south-west London, the University of Roehampton London has a 54-acre parkland campus with state-of-the-art facilities, located within 30 minutes of central London.
The university has a long history dating back over 180 years. Through its oldest college, Whitelands, it has provided higher education to women for longer than any university in the country. Today, it has a thriving range of postgraduate programmes and an excellent research profile.

Postgraduate
Roehampton postgraduate students gain a world-class education, and the opportunity to work alongside some of the world’s leading experts in their respective fields, as well as taking part in ground-breaking research. The university has fostered a diverse and inclusive postgraduate learning community, as well as a high-quality network of support.
There are dedicated postgraduate accommodation options and ample networking events and other opportunities designed to prepare students to become the next generation of leaders. Entry requirements for each postgraduate programme vary, and will not always rely on an undergraduate degree being completed in a similar field. Students will find there are multiple entry routes available, whether progressing directly from their undergraduate study or returning to university after a hiatus.

Choreography
This course offers the flexibility to choose a pathway in the second year to suit specific interests. Graduates from the programme work as independent artists in London, Berlin and New York, and others teach in higher education across Europe.
Education
The School of Education is one of the largest providers of teacher training courses in London and has a 98% employment rate within six months of leaving. It is renowned for its high quality of teacher training and research, and has numerous links to over 300 schools in London where students will be placed for part of the practical training.
Children’s Literature
The School has the longest running MA/PGDip in Children’s Literature in the UK. There is the option to specialise in creative writing on the MA/PGDip by taking a creative pathway. The school works with internationally renowned scholars at the National Centre of Research for Children’s Literature (NCRCL).
Computing
The School of Arts and Digital Industries offers a number of computing programmes including MSc Data Science, MSc Web Development and MSc Computing, all taught in a brand-new media centre, with the latest software and equipment.
The University’s careers centre, The Hub, and online careers portal offers 1:1 advice, networking opportunities and a range of online resources to help develop professional skills and contacts. There are also careers fairs hosted throughout the year.
The university has a thriving mentoring programme that pairs students with alumni working in related fields. Many taught master’s programmes also offer work placements and other career development opportunities, and all postgraduate courses are designed with professional development in mind.

The students' union is independent of the university, run by students, for students. Their aim is to support and represent the voice of the students. The union has a student bar, catering facilities including a variety of food options, and additional welfare and pastoral support.
The union offers almost 60 student societies, which are a great way of meeting new people with a shared interest and to develop broader skills. Current societies include the Photography Society, Politics Society and UR Writing Society.
Sports clubs are open to join for beginners and athletes alike. These include a football club, a cheerleading club and a judo club. There is also an esports arena.

Clubs and societies
Societies are a great way of meeting new people with a shared interest and for taking time to relax between classes. Current societies include the Business Society, the Yoga Society and the E-Sports Society.
Sports clubs are open to join for beginners and athletes alike. These include football, cheerleading and judo, and are a great way to stay fit, learn new skills and make friends. The students’ union can also help to set up new societies where they are not already offered, and can provide organisational support.
City life
One of the many advantages to studying at the University of Roehampton London is its network of fast and effective transport links, which include a 24-hour bus service, underground rail lines and overground trains to many places in the country. There is also a free university bus service that runs between Barnes, the nearest rail station, the campus, and Wimbledon Station.
London offers an abundance of resources that can help students develop their interests and have fun, including museums, galleries, libraries, theatres and sports clubs. Whatever the taste or budget, there is always something to do. Markets, boutiques and high street stores are found down some of the most famous streets in the world – like Oxford Street, Portobello Road and Carnaby Street.

All Roehampton postgraduate students applying through the main cycle have a guaranteed option of living on campus. There is a range of accommodation options available, priced between £147.70 and £200.90 per week, which includes all bills. Living on campus provides lots of benefits including being close to the gym, acres of landscaped gardens, shop, bar, catering, esports, societies and even the resident chickens.
All students living in halls are part of the four historic Roehampton colleges, which provide an accommodation representative and extensive welfare support, as well as regular college dinners and other social events. The university also provides new students with the option of a quiet room or postgraduate only accommodation.
Facilities
The University of Roehampton London has a beautiful green 54-acre campus which is well-furnished with resources and facilities. The university’s £35 million university library is at the centre of campus, and boasts more than 1,200 individual and group study spaces, 24-hour IT facilities and dedicated spaces for postgraduate and research students, and a whole floor just for silent studying.
Postgraduate students have access to a range of social spaces and plenty of choices for catering. Students will also be able to use sports facilities, including the on-campus gym.
Postgraduate students studying life and health sciences have a huge range of advanced research laboratories available to use. Roehampton also offers technical teaching rooms for psychology students, including mobile eye-tracking systems, transcranial magnetic stimulation and access to magnetic resonance imaging technology (MRI).
Students studying dance benefit from modern performance spaces and proximity to some of the world’s leading arts organisations.

Alumni Scholarship
20% discount on the full tuition fee amount is awarded to undergraduate alumni who return to take a higher programme of study.
Scholarship for Sporting Excellence
£500 - £1,500 is given to students with outstanding sporting talents.
Roehampton Music Scholarship
£1,200 is given to talented music students to help develop their talents through lessons, courses or the purchase of relevant equipment. To be awarded this scholarship, an audition is required.
Esports Scholarships
£1,500 a year for students with talents in esports.

There are plenty of options for taught postgraduate degree courses. Each taught module is specialised to help students gain vital industry experience to prepare for a successful career in their chosen field. Academic learning is combined with practical research, independent study, presentations and projects.
Essays and exams are typically used to assess work, with a dissertation specialising in a particular topic of interest being completed in the final months of the degree.
