Course Summary

Become a Nurse, or expand your practice, and change patients' lives. This two year master’s is designed for graduates and career changers who want to become a registered Nurse. It's also ideal if you’re already a qualified Nurse and want a second field of registration. You'll learn to provide world-leading care and support to neonates, children, adolescents and their families. You'll graduate able to make complex decisions, evaluate practice, coordinate care, and advocate for your patients' needs. You will enhance your studies through a varied range of practical experience during placements to help you develop into the role of a nursing professional. Your theoretical skills will be assessed through essays, examinations, projects, professional conversations, and a dissertation. Practical skills will be assessed whilst you are on placement and recorded by your practice mentor.

Modules

This module will offer you an opportunity to explore globalisation in health and healthcare from the perspective of individuals, communities and population. You will examine epidemiology, the science that underpins public health, and the role of the nurse in addressing health inequalities, promoting health and preventing ill-health.

Entry requirements

UK 2.1 Bachelor Hons degree or above or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University, GCSE English language and maths 4-9 or A*-C. You will be required to successfully complete a Recognition of Prior Learning as a condition of entry to the programme. . Subject to satisfactory health and DBS checks. 325 hours of relevant theoretical learning from your first degree or employment 675 hours of practice worked in a healthcare environment under the supervision of a registered healthcare professional
