International Relations (MA)

UNIVERSITY OF ST ANDREWS
Overall Rating

Overall an excellent place to study and live for 4 years, it shall be very sad to leave. It is certainly fair to add that the university's few faults are either out of their control (housing prices), or common with other British Universities (contact time, rubbish Union etc.).

Student Union

The Union underwent multi-million pound redevelopment but looks and feels ridiculous. A waste of money that should have been spent on academic resources and lecturer salaries.

Clubs and Societies

I can't speak for every club but there seems to be a decent range of them.

Accommodation

All the Halls of Residences are brilliantly well equipped and a joy to live in. When you move out of halls in second year, however, the quality of housing is low and the prices are extortionate.

Uni Facilities

Overall very good; especially in the School of International Relations. The sports centre is outdated but redevelopment has begun.

Course and Lecturers

The Courses themselves are compelling and engaging - as are the world famous lecturers and tutors. I did not rate 5/5 as there simply is not enough contact time with them.

City Life

A beautiful town that is a dream to spend 4 years in.

Job Prospects

Student Support

Student Services, from experience, and excellent and often life-saving for those suffering from mental illness.
