Course Summary

This course enhances the study of international business with a solid grounding in the economic theory that explains business behaviour both at the level of the firm and within the global macroeconomy. You will find out about microeconomic principles relating to the theories of firms and consumers, and macroeconomic principles underpinning national and international economies. You will also learn about managerial economics and how firms try to optimise their human resources. You will gain the skills - and have the opportunity - to undertake independent research in an area of business economics, which will expand your employment opportunities. You are assessed through: unseen examinations; essays; a research project. This course is for you if you wish to pursue a management career in international business or the financial sector, and take up such roles as business or financial analyst.
