The University of West London (UWL) is known as the ‘career university’ due its high graduate employment rate. All postgraduate courses at UWL are specifically designed to enable students to thrive in successful future careers across both academia and industry.
UWL has invested £150m in its campus in recent years. Postgraduate study and research are divided across UWL’s three campuses. The university’s Ealing and Brentford sites are well served by public transport and a free shuttle bus service runs between the two campuses. Nursing and midwifery courses are based at the Berkshire Institute for Health in Reading, which is just a short train journey from London.

Generally, for taught master’s courses students are required to hold an honours degree (with a 2:1 or above) in a related subject from a UK university or equivalent institution. For some subjects, a portfolio of work and a written statement may also be required.
All applications are considered on an individual basis and places at UWL may be offered based on demonstrable previous experience or training. Students can contact UWL’s helpful admissions department to discuss the admissions procedure in further detail and to inquire as to whether they meet the entry requirements.
The minimum entry requirement for research degrees is a UK upper-second class honours degree (2:1), and a master’s degree awarded with a merit or distinction. UWL also recognises equivalent qualifications from accredited overseas institutions, as well as equivalent professional qualifications.
For research degrees, prospective students are encouraged to identify a potential research supervisor via email before submitting an application. A research proposal is also required for research degrees, and this should be produced in consultation with a potential research supervisor based at the UWL.
