Overview

The University of West London (UWL) is based in popular west London, which is in the heart of one of the UK’s most successful business regions with a number of global organisations such a GlaxoSmithKline and Sky based locally.

The University offers postgraduate courses in subjects ranging from nursing to music. Known as the ‘career university’, there is an impressive graduate employment rate, with courses specifically designed to enable students to secure work after leaving.

The eight Schools in the university are:

  • London School of Film, Media and Design
  • The Claude Littner Business School
  • School of Computing and Engineering
  • School of Law and Criminology
  • London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism
  • London College of Music
  • College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare
  • School of Human and Social Sciences

The University is made up of two campuses –West London, and the Berkshire Institute for Health, which is in Reading and enables the University to deliver its nursing and midwifery programmes across the region in partnership with the NHS.

The two West London sites are based in Ealing and Brentford. A free bus service runs between the two schools, while transport links around both areas make it easy to get into Central London and explore the city.

The University has invested £150m in the campus which includes a new radio studio for media students, performance spaces, industry-leading training facilities plus an on- site restaurant and a 24 hour library and currently building work has started on a new sports centre to open in 2019.
