Learn to share, build and evaluate professional practice and educational policy.
Designed for teachers currently working in schools and other educational settings, this course will enhance your understanding of educational practice.
Building on the skills you developed during your PGCE, you'll explore complex policy, pedagogical practice and educational research. You'll reflect on leadership and change management and engage critically with educational research to inform your own developing practice.
Studying for this Masters should support you in further developing your career.
Course content
The modules in this course are designed to complement the work you completed as part of your PGCE, and build on the professional experience and expertise you've gained in your work as a teacher.
You'll explore theories of leadership in education, getting to grips with the challenges of change management.
You'll also develop a core set of research skills, considering research design, methodologies, ethical issues and think about the importance of using educational research to improve your practice.
In Year 2 you'll complete an Independent Professional Study, giving you the chance to explore a topic that's important to you and allowing you to apply the skills you've learned directly to your professional practice.
