UNIVERSITY OF YORK
Overall Rating

York's reputation and QS ranking are suitable for me, but this is only one of the factors, but what is more important is the construction of facilities and campuses, which must be more convenient and cost-effective.

York is originally a tourist city with a relatively high cost of living. First, for international students, most of their living costs come from renting. Many international students around me choose to live in Leeds, Hull, or even further afield, and the rent is half of that in York.
If the cost of accommodation on and off campus is not reduced, coupled with the rising tuition fees year after year, fewer and fewer students will choose York. Why not Leeds? What about Sheffield? This makes students feel frustrated in their study and life. In addition to academic pressure, they also have to face the pressure of living costs.
The fees for activities organized by the school are also high. For example, the ticket to watch a boxing match costs 4 pounds and only has one drink. So why don’t I choose to watch it on Amazon? It only costs 3 pounds with a large bottle of Coke and snacks. I don’t think it’s worth it. It's reasonable. Since organizing activities is to let students feel the positivity brought by the school, it cannot be organized just for profit.
