Course Summary

This programme will enable graduates to demonstrate a critical awareness of a range of complex issues associated with health and social care and critically evaluate evidence in this area to improve practice. The varied diet of modules and specialist pathways may be taken in such a way to meet specific clinically based learning requirements or to allow for a flexible uptake of study, based around personal and/or professional demands. They will be able to critically reflect on professional practice and evaluate and plan their own continuing professional development, making use of appropriate research methods. The programme aims to retain a central focus on service delivery, patient/user experience and outcomes and higher level professional practice and is characterised by adult learning, with students demonstrating a commitment to use their experience and work related learning to underpin the further development of theoretical knowledge with application to their particular area of practice. The programme will enable graduates to demonstrate a critical awareness of a range of complex issues associated with health and social care and critically evaluate evidence in this area to improve practice.
