You’ll boost your understanding of strength and conditioning training methods and advance your understanding of current thinking. Additionally, you’ll develop further professional insights into mental wellbeing issues in today’s performance sports industry.

Sports therapy makes up one aspect of an athlete’s overall performance sports picture. Through hands-on experience and opportunities to reflect, you’ll become confident in making multidisciplinary plans with colleagues to benefit the athlete more holistically.

You’ll leave us as a trusted sports therapist with extensive real-world experience in all aspects of contemporary sports therapy. Employers will value your extensive therapeutic skills and excellent patient care.

Advanced Professional Practice provides an opportunity to draw together key aspects of professional and applied practice to achieve a synthesis of learning. The module enables you to apply theory to practice in applied and vocational settings, undertaking a concerted period of professional experience within the sport and exercise environment. You will benefit from a practical context in which to apply and evaluate theoretical concepts leading to reflection and evaluation of the entire process. The aim is also to increase your awareness of work based culture and enhance your employability through more personally directed development of your practical competencies, self-confidence, clinical reasoning and adaptability. You will also enhance your interactive skills, including teamwork, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
