This online haematology programme boosts your understanding of blood management and haematology patient management for progression to senior positions. Our Biomed Online modules are aimed at health sector employees who want to keep their knowledge up to date with the latest developments in biomedical science and related subjects. The haematology programme provides specialist knowledge of current practice in normal and pathological blood management and blood transfusion and haematology patient management.
What you should know about this course
You can study individual modules for your continuing professional development (CPD) or follow a pathway of modules towards a postgraduate qualification in haematology. The MSc award requires you to complete a research project in the workplace. It is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science and will support your advance towards senior positions in haematology or blood transfusion management. Each 12-week online module is tailored to meet workplace needs and comes with full support from an experienced practitioner. The modules have been created by NHS Trusts, Pathology Joint Ventures, Public Health England and the University of Greenwich, and are approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science.
Courses are suitable for healthcare professionals including biomedical, clinical and research scientists; laboratory, hospital and health service managers; nurses, pharmacists and medical technical officers; quality, health and safety and risk and governance managers. BioMed Online helps employees across the health sector to stay abreast of the latest developments in biomedical science and related subjects. You may already have a qualification in a science such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry or pharmacy at a range of levels from HNC or BSc to PhD.

You should have a BSc or MSc from an EU university or equivalent professional clinical qualification, or experience gained within the NHS or an equivalent healthcare setting. Equivalent qualifications from a non-EU university will be assessed on an individual basis.
