Multi-disciplinary research with strong NHS and National Institute for Health and Care Research partnerships provides an inspiring environment for postgraduate researchers.IntroductionThe Institute of Population Health conducts internationally acclaimed research and collaborates with communities to understand how biology, behaviour, environment, policies, and technology impact physical and mental health.Research is supported by colleagues working in health and social care, experts by experience and members of the public. We have a long and successful history of research links with NHS services and are extremely well placed to help develop the clinical research expertise of our postgraduate researchers across a range of settings.Our work is theoretically robust, and problem and policy focused. We have a research agenda that’s socially relevant and postgraduate teaching that’s truly research led. The Department of Primary Care and Mental Health is home to expertise and ongoing research, using both quantitative and qualitative methods, systematic reviews and clinical trials in a variety of community, primary and secondary care contexts.
