Professor Ngaire Woods, Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government, discusses applicant requirements and the future prospects for those who take the MA in Public Policy at the University of Oxford. The majority of students tend to already have experience in the public, private and NGO sectors or within journalism. Following the masters, approximately a third of postgraduates go into government jobs and the rest lean towards public service jobs within the private sector, NGOs or the media. Applicants are required to demonstrate three qualities: 1. An intellectual brilliance and willing to contribute to the learning environment 2. A demonstrable commitment to public service 3. An ability to initiate and deliver plans
