The course offers a thorough grounding in the theoretical and practical knowledge, issues and skills central to forensic psychological practice and the wide-ranging criminal justice settings, such as prison services, national security, academia and research. Both MSc routes provide a BPS-accredited Stage 1 foundation in forensic psychology and share the majority of core content. The main difference lies in two modules, whereby the MSc Forensic Psychology covers the full spectrum of modern offending behaviour, forensic client groups and criminal justice contexts and the MSc Forensic Psychology and Mental Health focuses specifically on offending associated with mental health disorders within secure care settings.
