Course Summary

The Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities (CAMC) contributes to the Creative Cultures research theme. CAMC examines how the arts help us process the past and live well in the present. The Centre’s community of researchers explores historical, social and political dimensions of cultural production through academic and practice-based research. Its researchers employ diverse methods, practices and critical theories to explore and exploit the value of creativity in how we understand, connect and transform communities, enrich individual lives and, in doing so, create better futures. CAMC is deeply local, and our members actively work to enrich and promote Coventry’s museums, galleries and heritage sites as well as fostering community health, mobility and access to creative and cultural productions.CAMC is a truly exceptional environment where a team of world-leading researchers, artists and creative practitioners from a variety of fields are engaged with each other’s work and are committed to nurturing our early career researchers and PGRs. CAMC welcomes postgraduate candidates to our renowned research ecology, where they explore rich sites of innovation and learning, guided by experts in their fields.
