  • Ethnicity, identity, Islam and Han settler colonialism, with a focus on Xinjiang, China (Dr Jo Smith Finley)
  • Film, literature, media and representation (Prof Yu)
  • Gender studies (Dr Smith Finley, Prof Yu)

Modules

To produce a dissertation that extends the research knowledge and skills acquired on Researcher Education and Development HSS modules through a more substantial and sustained piece of writing. To prepare students for doctoral research where appropriate.
