Course Summary

Investigate central issues of global justice and develop a deeper and wider understanding of world politics. This International Politics master's investigates central issues of global justice. This includes:the debate between relativism and universalismthe foundation and content of human rightsresponses to global poverty and inequalitycosmopolitan democracyenvironmental justiceAlong with a greater understanding, you'll learn to think critically about these issues.The course is taught by influential political theorists and philosophers. You could also pursue a postgraduate research degree in global justice and ethics studies.

Modules

This module aims to: enable students to undertake an in-depth study of a topic within the area of their MA degree; provide students with the opportunity to engage in a major research exercise that, in scope and scale, significantly exceeds that of their coursework papers; give students experience of selecting and applying intellectual frameworks, undertaking original research and presenting their results in a scholarly fashion; develop skills such as written communication, planning and initiative.

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in international studies/politics or a related discipline. We will also consider your application on an individual basis if you have lower or non-standard qualifications and relevant professional experience.
