The programme of lectures and project work, encompasses a wide range of petroleum and geoenergy fundamentals, which play an important part in the modern petroleum, CCUS and hydrogen industry. Project work provides an opportunity for ideas and methods, assimilated through lectures and tutorials, to be applied to real field evaluation and development design problems. The course is applied in nature and has been designed so that on completion, you are technically well prepared for a career in industry.There are three routes you can select from to gain a postgraduate Master’s award:MSc Petroleum Engineering – one year full timeMSc Petroleum Engineering – two years part timeMSc Petroleum Engineering (with Advanced Practice) two years full timeThe one-year programme is a great option if you want to gain a traditional MSc qualification. The two-year master’s degree with advanced practice enhances your qualification by adding a vocational or research based internship to the one-year master’s programme.A vocational internship is a great way to gain work experience and give your CV a competitive edge. A research internship provides you with the opportunity to develop your analytical, team-working, research and academic skills by working alongside a research team in an academic setting. We guarantee a research internship, but cannot guarantee a vocational internship. We will, however, provide you with practical support and advice on how to find and secure your own vocational internship position should you prefer this type of internship.
Cost of living Fee - Maintenance/Living Costs: £1,023 per month for areas outside London, for the duration of the course as stated on your letter/CAS, for a maximum period of 9 months (£9,207)
