Build an advanced, evidence-based understanding of occupational medicine while developing your ability to critically evaluate and investigate workplace health through our university-validated MSc in Occupational Medicine. Designed for healthcare professionals and others with existing or relevant occupational health responsibilities, this Level 7 master’s degree explores the relationship between work and health, occupational health practice, fitness for work, workplace risk, occupational diseases, health surveillance, and occupational health management through flexible, 100% online, part-time study. Across seven modules (180 credits), you'll examine occupational hazards and workplace safety before progressing into occupational toxicology and hygiene, health promotion and workplace wellbeing, and the legal, ethical, and management principles underpinning occupational health services. You'll then extend your understanding of evidence-based occupational medicine through research methods and critical appraisal before completing an independent Professional Project relevant to your own professional practice. Validated by the University of Buckingham, the MSc combines postgraduate occupational medicine with Tutor-led learning designed to fit around existing professional commitments. Through case-based learning and study across occupational health and workplace health, you'll develop knowledge that can strengthen your existing practice at the work-health interface while building the research skills to critically examine evidence and investigate an area relevant to your professional interests.
