• Complementary Syntheses Giving Access to a Full Suite of Differentially Substituted Phthalocyanine-Porphyrin Hybrids
• Development of photoactive photoreactive antibodies for next generation cancer therapeutics
• Elucidation of iron-sensing in plant-symbiont bacteria
• Developing novel magnetic resonance techniques to study functional biomolecular machines
• Development of methods to resolve ligand exchange rates within a diheme thiosulfate dehydrogenase These are only a few examples that highlight the importance of postgraduate research at UEA in changing our world. Would like to join this vibrant research community? Academic staff in the School of Chemistry have research interests in the following areas:
• Analytical and bio-analytical chemistry
• Chemical biology
• Bioorganic and bioinorganic chemistry
• Computational and theoretical chemistry
• Energy materials
• Molecular and structural biochemistry
• Nanosciences
• Synthetic biology
• Synthetic organic, inorganic and materials chemistry
• Ultrafast laser spectroscopy Working closely with an academic supervisor gives you the support to carry out your own independent research and make your own mark. We have a wealth of remarkable academics, but how do you know which team will be right for you. We suggest you look at the School's website, and read up on some of the recent publications by faculty members. You should then identify at least one faculty member in the School of Chemistry who could be your supervisor, contact them to express your interest and discuss the projects they can offer. You will then need to make an application via our website and your nominated faculty member can help you with the application process. Your application requires the name of your nominated supervisor, and an outline proposal. Please contact your nominated supervisor for the outline proposal. After you complete your application, please inform your nominated supervisor.
