Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at Birmingham Newman University

The location isn’t to far away from myself in an area of north Birmingham, where from Great Barr I drive down to West Bromwich and go on the M5 all the way down to Bartley Green, which the whole journey roughly takes 30 minutes in total, plus the tuition fees and costs are relatively overall at a lower cost and cheaper too.

The teaching facilities are amazing with very supporting lectures and program leaders as well, student support is great too. Now another benefit of being at Newman University is that you are on a course with other peers who share similar targets, interests, aspirations, career goals and even have a relevant backgrounds to yourself too.

Finally, I could personally not think of a much better educational institution to go to than Newman University where it’s got its heart out for the students, lectures and anybody else who visits the campuses that are there, as it is in a prefect location all way round for anybody who is thinking to go to a university within the West Midlands, more specifically in Birmingham.

Would be really great if there was a common room or study area for mature/ part time/ online students so they could escape from the volume of the younger students and study in peace with access to computers and coffee making facilities read full review
It is a supportive environment with a positive and friendly vibe across the entire campus. All staff make time for you include housekeeping and other service areas that you would not usually expect to take the time. It is possibly the only institution I know where even senior staff like the Vice Chancellor have a visible presence on campus, which adds to the commitment from staff to maintain a community feel for all. The students union have been superb, and go above and beyond. They are an extremely small team yet they make every effort to ensure they do what they can to enhance the student experience. read full review
One of the best things about my uni experience has been the supportive community and the quality of the teaching. The lecturers are passionate and genuinely care about helping students succeed, which makes a huge difference. There are also loads of opportunities to get involved — whether that’s joining societies, attending events, or taking part in projects outside of lectures. The campus itself is a really nice place to be, with great facilities and plenty of spaces to study or just relax with friends.
I also think more support around careers and life after uni would be really helpful — it’s something a lot of students start to think about quite late, and having more structured guidance earlier on would make a big difference.

As a mature student I felt very welcomed at Newman, the building is new and more building work is currently underway, which makes the uni feel more easily accessible and and a comfortable place to be. The uni staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, they have put me at ease from day 1. Every week I feel that I matter to my tutors. The library resources are very good, the library staff is very helpful and the student support resources are 2nd to none. They offer a lot of online and face to face workshops addressing issues related to studying.
I often see student unions organising different activities and students going to their "open space" office to socialise.
More parking spaces would be more welcomed as in busy times if I was not there 1hr before lectures, I wouldn't find a space.
