Postgraduate

The university offers a wide range of postgraduate courses, including degrees, diplomas, certificates and PGCEs, providing students with high-valued skills to help kickstart their career. Entry requirements for postgraduate qualifications at London Metropolitan University vary depending on the course. Some may ask for an undergraduate degree in a related field, while others may accept students with any successful undergraduate degree depending on the final grade. There’s a society for everyone at London Met, with over 50 to choose from including an Afro-Caribbean society, maths society, nutrition society, women’s forum society and many more. If students can't find what they're looking for, they can set up their own.

Accommodation

London Met’s accommodation team is there to help students by providing guidance and advice on how to find the right place to live in London.

The university doesn’t own any halls of residence, but it can provide information about the external halls of residence available, as well as homestay options and advice on privately rented accommodation. London Met believes in fair access to education, supporting postgraduate students from all walks of life and economic backgrounds to ensure that each individual student has the resources to pursue their academic work in comfort and confidence.

There are several bursaries and grants available to postgraduate students, including a Disabled Students’ Allowance, a Social Work Bursary and an Initial Teaching Training (ITT) bursary. Taught

London Met has more than 100 taught postgraduate courses for people to choose from, ranging from master’s degrees in architecture and artificial intelligence to physiotherapy and youth and community work. Taught courses offer students the opportunity to learn from some of the leading experts in their field. Assessments may include essays, examinations and observed lab work.

Research

The impact of London Met's maths research was joint top in the UK, while overall 86 per cent of its research is internationally recognised and 60 per cent is world-leading or internationally excellent, according to the 2022 Research Excellence Framework.

Students who choose a research-based qualification will be able to collaborate on projects that shape the global community. Many can be studied remotely if necessary.

Distance learning

The university offers a growing number of distance learning courses including biomedical studies, English language teaching and maritime law (top-up).
