Course Summary

As a teacher of history, you’ll bring the past to life and teach your pupils how historical events can be interpreted in a variety of ways sparking passionate debate and the development of a range of skills. Full support will be given throughout the course by an experienced history specialist to enhance your classroom practice. The course sets you up for a successful teaching career regardless of your chosen destination. Worldwide qualification: The PGDE is a well-recognised teaching qualification worldwide and is regulated by: the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), the Scottish Government. Study with us learn from on-campus classes and 18 weeks of placements in schools become qualified to teach in locations worldwide opportunity to achieve 80 Masters-level credits, funded places available (Scottish/Home students only).

Entry requirements

An ordinary degree, or international equivalent. Degree must include 80 SCQF credits from degree-level study in History or Ancient History with a maximum of 40 SCQF credit points from Archaeology. Maths & English, Higher (SCQF Level 6) English Grade C or above, National 5 (SCQF Level 5) Mathematics Grade C or above
