UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE

Student Reviewer - March 2015

I'm glad I came here, I do not attend lectures, but my supervisor is fantastic. The accommodation is subsidised by the college, but not flexible for 4th year PHDs. The university facilities I would rate 4 starts out of 5 but the poor library hours need improvement. I've joined academic societies which are mostly relevant to my research but I think the student's union wastes money left, right and centre. At the university I understand that mental health services are good, but career services don't give attention to academic careers, but I have a job offer here already at a Top 10 global university. read full review

It's a good institution, but academia isn't for me. There are strong academic staff here and my course is challenging. The accommodation is central with good conditions. I like to find quirky cafes in Cambridge although I wouldn't rate city life here highly. There are many good facilities both at college and in faculty. I have joined the athletics societies here and I think overall the student's union is strong, active and recruits many speakers. There are mental health, pastoral, academic, jobs and graduate support services available here, and with job prospects, Cambridge will look good to employers. read full review

There are varied things which I like about my course. The accommodation is cheap and sometimes good. The mental health support services are bad here and I'm not sure how easy it will be for me to get a job once I'm done here. read full review

My overall experience has been very good. There are a wide range of things that I think are great about my course and I have joined the Cambridge RAG society here. The accommodation is fairly expensive nut nice. I also don't have much to do with the student's union but I think it's welfare measures are quite effective. read full review
