Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Greenwich

UNIVERSITY OF GREENWICH

Aafreen - January 2025

As an MBA Finance student, I believe the University of Greenwich offers an excellent environment for academic and professional growth. Its comprehensive curriculum, experienced faculty, and industry connections provide a solid foundation in finance. The university’s location near London, a global financial hub, also offers valuable networking and internship opportunities.

To improve, the university could enhance its global alumni network for better mentorship opportunities. Additionally, integrating specialized electives in emerging finance areas like fintech and sustainable finance, along with more practical experiences, would better prepare students for the future of finance. read full review

I believe the University of Greenwich is one of the best universities I have ever been to in my entire life, as there are ample reasons behind it. It has an inspiring environment for studying, and people, teachers and faculty, coming from different backgrounds and with different perspectives, I am learning new things every day. They also provide great student support services. I went through some issues, and they helped me during my struggling times and supported me to get back to my normal life. They also have employability services, and I want to mention this: every 10-15 days, I book a meeting to stay on track, and it’s amazing. One thing I want to mention is that the professors here are brilliant. I have seen they are experts in their respective fields and have a lot of information. I am learning every day, and I remember one day I asked my teacher, since I ask a lot of questions and I said it’s not allowed in certain places. She said to me, ‘No, I’m learning a lot of things from you,’ which changed my mindset. If I had a chance to suggest something for improvement, there should be a session once a month with an expert so we can talk about what’s going on in our lives, like a therapist. read full review
Good Things About the University of Greenwich

The University of Greenwich stands out for its breathtaking campuses, particularly the Greenwich campus, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The historic architecture, combined with the riverside setting, provides an inspiring environment for learning. The university also prides itself on its multicultural and inclusive atmosphere, with students from over 140 countries creating a diverse community. Accessibility to central London is another advantage, offering students excellent networking opportunities, internships, and exposure to a vibrant cultural scene.

The university places a strong emphasis on academic support, providing services such as personal tutors and the Academic Skills Centre to help students thrive. Its focus on employability is evident through placement opportunities, career fairs, and partnerships with industries. For students seeking a vibrant social life, the Greenwich Students’ Union organizes various events, clubs, and societies to foster connections and engagement. Additionally, the modern facilities, including well-equipped labs and libraries, enhance the academic experience for students.

Areas for Improvement

While the university excels in many areas, there are aspects that could be improved to enhance the student experience. Career services, for instance, could benefit from stronger connections with niche industries, such as pharmaceutical science, to provide tailored support for students. For international students, finding placements can be particularly challenging, and expanding industry partnerships could make a significant difference.

Administrative processes at the university, such as timetabling and visa-related services, can sometimes be inefficient, leading to delays that frustrate students. The cost of university-managed accommodation is another concern, as it can be expensive, and the availability does not always meet demand. Mental health services, though available, often have long waiting times, suggesting the need for more resources or staff to support student well-being.

Some students have also reported issues with Wi-Fi reliability and IT services on campus, which can hinder access to online resources and learning tools. Feedback on assignments and exams is another area where students feel improvements could be made, with requests for more detailed and timely responses from instructors. Lastly, while the university hosts a wide range of events and opportunities, better promotion and communication could ensure more students are aware of these offerings. read full review
The best thing is the support from teachers and tutor. The location is good too.
The worst thing is there is no instalments for fees. read full review
Before coming I taught that how the university will be ? Is it correct university to join or not? How my life will be in future ?

Then I got a excellent feedback from the seniors and friends that this is the best and top University in UK.
The faculty will be very friendly and explains very clearly and clearly our doubts until you got it.
After joining in the university, I realized that my seniors and friends words are true.

Greenwich is an exceptionally disorganised university. My lecturers are clearly burnout from over work, and do not have the time to teach us and support us adequately. Student issues are not listened to by management, and as a student nurse I feel disempowered.
Hvaing said that, the simulation wards that they have on the Avery Hill campus for health students are very good. read full review
