Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Nottingham

Computer Science or Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) MSc

UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM

Student Reviewer - January 2023

The best place is to provide a lot of help and support for students, such as career planning, language improvement, and the school sports facilities are very good. The worst part is the curriculum of our major. The course learning process is fast and the pressure is high. read full review

I love the campus and the facilities on it, for example, the student union, libraries and David Ross gym. It’s really accessible and has everything you need. Also the grounds are very refreshing as it is very green with lots of wildlife.

However, I feel as though student support is lacking slightly. Whilst it is still great and I receive lots of emails, I feel like support should be spoken about more in lectures and seminars. read full review

The variety of friends I have made has been the best part of my university experience. These friends are there for you and offer or receive assistance with academics, social life, and even other international exposures. Additionally, I have been able to receive any assistance from the school that I have requested. I believe there are numerous community opportunities that I may need to investigate before graduating. The university staff is extremely responsive and eager to assist when required. The professors are approachable and always willing to help. The student union is very interactive and organize events to help students, especially international students to settle in comfortably. The campus is serene and conducive for effective studies with library and other necessary facilities. On the other hand, I think some lecture seminar rooms at University Park campus are quite old with the chairs uncomfortable and do not have enough charging ports .

Some issues with internal support for accessing programs, dealing with student registration etc. Basically just some admin issues that were difficult to get resolved.

All the teaching staff that i have had in recent years have been excellent (bar a couple of outliers) and i've had some great support throughout my time at the university in undergrad and masters before I began the PhD here. Without this support i would not have known about the masters course, or been given the opportunity to complete the PhD. read full review
