Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Nottingham

Really nice community and feel around campus. For improvement I would love for there to be more bars and social spaces on the campus because apart from mooch there’s not much else. I would like more places to have fun with friends on the weekends. read full review
I don't feel that the student union is very effective in its current state. I think that they deal with pointless issues.

The student support is great and I've never had a question go unanswered. read full review
The University of Nottingham has three campuses; the main campus, Jubilee campus (Business school) and Sutton Bonington campus (School of Biosciences) . All three campuses are well connected by the free hopper bus service. I am a second year PhD student and I am based in the School of Biosciences, Sutton Bonington. The overall the facilities are great on the campus, you have access to cafes, libraries, sports centre, plenty of study rooms and parking! The professors are very friendly and approachable. The campus is situated in a village, far away from the city. Therefore commuting to the city may be a problem, especially for the students living in the campus during the non-term time as the frequency of hopper bus is limited during this time. The main campus is gorgeous and green, situated near a beautiful lake and has a fair amount of hills and geese. It has well kept buildings, lots of libraries and great facilities. , with all the main facilities and buildings within walking distance of each other. The sports centre has been recently updated providing state of the art facilities including numerous classes every week, and there are many sports teams to get involved in. Student members have access to the sport centre in all three campuses. There are a number of activities organised for students all year round. The well-being of the students is taken care of. read full review
There is great study culture and a number of resources to make it easy for students to make their research and become more acquainted with the subject of interest. The campus is big and beautiful. However, there should be more options for food on campus and better guidance for international students when booking accommodation. read full review
All the facilities provided at the University of Nottingham to students are top-level. The university campus is very beautiful as it has a very big park, a lot of big trees, a lake and a playing area. In my opinion, the university could improve in a few areas, such as organising more student engagement events. The university could organise annual sporting events or sports days where many students can participate and meet new people there. read full review
The best aspects are the opportunities that the university provide and share with the students, such as talks and awards outside the university that you can apply for and take part in. The worst aspect is how they responded to COVID and teacher strikes, and the affect this had on our learning. read full review
Research is top notch. The libraries are fantastic! read full review
Best: lots of activities, especially sports to keep you active. enthusiastic professors and tutors who are willing to help.
Worst: only study three days a week, feeling like there is a lot to learn but quickly lose track. classmates talk in class even after professors tell them to stop. melton hall, where I live, usually has problems relating to the heat, fire alarm, and water system. read full review

UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM

Mercedes - January 2023

The best aspects of the uni are that I have found my community with the help of the societies they have. It's really easy to find likeminded people through them. Also, I feel like the way the professors interact with the students is like a peer level, I feel that they take into account my inputs and suggestions.

Things to improve are the help they provide for international students to apply for visa and adjust to the UK. Also, more diffusion of the programs they have aimed for mature students or people with disabilities. read full review
