Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Sheffield

Great student experience, amazing SU and some nice parks locally; bit urban and spread out campus though read full review
Honestly, my university experience has been good overall. One of the best parts has been the teaching quality and how the course is structured. The modules are interesting and help me understand both the theory and practical side of my subject. I also like the learning environment because it allows me to study independently while still getting help when I need it from lecturers or classmates.
Studying in the UK has also helped me meet students from different backgrounds, which has been a nice experience because I get to learn about different cultures and ways of thinking. The university resources like the library and online materials have been helpful for my studies and assignments.
One of the things that could be improved is having more practical exposure, such as more industry-related activities, workshops, or internship opportunities connected to the course. Sometimes communication about deadlines or updates could also be more clear and earlier so students have more time to prepare.
Overall, I am happy with my university experience so far, and I feel like I am learning and improving both academically and personally read full review
My experience at the University of Sheffield has been truly wonderful. The University is well connected and genuinely student centred, which makes a real difference to student life. The Students’ Union goes above and beyond in organising activities and trips that help us explore new places and create lasting memories. GIAG has been one of the best platforms for booking student trips. I have already enjoyed visiting Liverpool and I am really looking forward to my upcoming trip to Oxford.

The Students’ Union is a clean and safe environment to study in. It offers a wide range of food options, from quick bites like wraps to tacos and nachos, which are perfect for busy days on campus. Coffee Revolution is also a favourite spot, offering great deals on coffee that keeps us going during long study sessions.

The faculty are supportive and work closely together, always keeping students’ interests in mind. They address academic and exam related concerns promptly and keep us informed about required training and updates. This makes us feel guided throughout our journey.

A special mention to the lab technicians, especially Vicky from Lab E05, who is welcoming and kind. She makes us feel comfortable by providing all the essential materials for our lab work and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

I feel grateful to be part of such a positive community. read full review
Sheffield is a very homely city. I was also here for my undergrad, and the first year accommodation is mainly all in the same place which makes it easy to make friends. The SU is amazing, you can definitely find a club and/or sport to try, even if you’re a complete beginner. The facilities are good, there are three big libraries with loads of study spaces. Although sometimes during exam season I do wish there was a bit more space, but that’s probably very similar at most universities when everyone panics and goes to the library to do their assignments and revise for exams. Overall a great University. read full review

The program's focus on Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Consultancy is perfectly aligned with my career ambitions, offering experiential learning like the International Study Trip and real-world consultancy projects.

The diverse, close-knit cohort and access to a Russell Group university's global network provide unparalleled networking opportunities, fostering both personal and professional growth. read full review
nice place, friendly with foreigners read full review
Worst:
-If you study outside the STEM subjects you don’t get to use the best of the university’s facilities (usually end up in the basement of
Some old building)
-Management of the university (cost cutting and job cutting) doesn’t make me feel good about where the money I pay is going and it affects the morale of the staff which is not nice to see as a student.

Best
-Inclusive
-Always things going on and things to get involved in
-High academic performance read full review
